Re-entry is always hard.

The first half of our trip in the states has been crazy! We got into the country on Friday March 23 and within a week or so, it was official that we were getting married on Sunday May 13!

The last time I came home from Mozambique my jetlag, or re-entry was extremely difficult. I was hoping that bring a bit of Moz back with me would make re-entry much easier. Nope. While it was so great having Nunu, I couldn’t get past jetlag. My back was so sore and all my body wanted to do was sleep.

I started wondering if I had Malaria or something, but then I would wake up the next morning feeling better and put off going to the doctor. Finally 2 weeks after arriving home, I knew something was really wrong. I woke up and was supposed to drive 3 hours but I didn’t feel safe, so I went back to bed for a few hours before making the trip. Later that night I had the chills for about 2 hours, followed by an hour of sweating.

It was the Saturday before Easter and I was in Sawyer, MI. I was determined to make it through the weekend and head to the Doctor on Monday when I arrived in Chicago.

When I made it to the Doctor that Monday, he said he thought I had bronchitis. I’ve never had bronchitis and I didn’t even have an actual cough.

By the time I was feeling like myself, I had less than 4 weeks to plan a wedding!

A few pic below of our trip home. We traveled 61 hours in 6 days!

We arrived at the Johannesburg Train Station around
4:00am and all I thought about was Chicken Lickin'

It opened at 7:30am... fried chicken for breakfast =)

Gautrain into the airport in Johannesburg.

Finally on an airplane and ready for sleep!

Welcome to America!
